The Latest From LCJP: July Newsletter Volume 2
The Backstory With Tim Waters
Restorative Justice in Schools changes how discipline is handled in schools. Relationships between students and staff become central to building up students' sense of belonging and respect for their school community. Instead of relying on punishment like detention and suspension that removes students from class, Restorative Justice Practices help students take responsibility and address those they've affected, offering them a path to reintegrate with their peers. Watch this interview on "The Backstory with Tim Waters" to learn more about how Restorative Justice has played a role in the experiences of two students and the School Resource Officer at Silvercreek High School in Longmont.
